Get out of our world, Depression!

Image
Yesterday, I happened to read a piece of sad news that YammerS, a Chinese caster named ' Mi HongWei ', tragically took his own life. He had been struggling with depression since his father died in 2019. To be honest, I am not familiar with YammerS and I had never followed his social account. I just knew he was one of the most passionate casters in the scene of DOTA2 which is the most popular and the biggest bonus esport. With regard to the word ' Depression ', I involuntarily think of my favourite singer—Chester Bennington, the one who′s best known as the lead vocalist of rock band ' Linkin Park ', struggled with depression for most of his life. I still remember that the first song I heard coming from Linkin Park was ' Numb '. The song itself is fiercely explosive and extremely powerful, yet it could make me stay peaceful and help me concentrate on my work at hand. At that moment, I was a senior at medical university. When I am listening to the song agai

A wonderful weekend

Image
Last weekend we went to Manly. It was a rejuvenating escape from the daily routine. We had unforgetable moments and amazing family time, and the joy of beachside fun made this getaway a truly memory experience. We went to a restaurant and had a seafood feast. My husband and child went to swimming and excavating sand.I sat on the beach and ate ice-cream.So if you see us,you will notice that our skin had become much darker from sun exposure. Finally we went back home on a ferry. The iconic ferry ride was fantastic with great views of the Sydney Opera House,Harbour Bridge and blue sea.Next time we would like to go to Manly again.

Metro vs Driving

Image
Last weekend,I went to the City to see my friend.Instead of driving, which I have been doing for most of time,I took the metro and train. The metro was not crowed and very quiet, allowing me to relax and see the passing scenery.   Then I had a wonderful brunch and catch up with my friend.Of course, we went to go shopping for several hours.Time passes so fast. After a day in the City,I headed back home,at last I arrived at the Norwest station. When I stood on the escalator,I looked up and noticed the square glass windows in the ceiling. There was sunlight streaming through.I was stunned at the moment and completely captivated by this intersecting light and color. In a word, I had fun taking the metro. I think I might choose to take the metro and train more often in the future. How about you? How do you usually get around?

You will never believe what I did on the weekend

Image
You will never believe what I did on the weekend, I stayed home, yes you read it right I didn't go out. I decided to work out, do some yoga, meditation, and relax, but I have changed my trainer, and that is because my last trainer had a slow method. Even though she was a good trainer, I was not satisfied with the process. I had not progressed much in months, and she had been my trainer for almost two years, so you probably get why I decided enough was enough. It took me about three weeks to find a new trainer. the long wait was mostly because I was a bit picky due to my previous experience  with my last trainer. After the long search I finally found the right trainer for me. she knows a lot about chakras, and how to balance them, which in my opinion is very important knowledge for a yoga trainer. I have already progressed a lot, so you can imagine how happy I am.

Crispy And Delicious Kokis

Image
Kokis  is a lovely traditional recipe. It's crunchy and crispy. If you eat one, you want to eat another one. Some countries call these " Rosette cookies ", but that recipe has a few differences.  I downloaded this picture from my Facebook friend. This is so cool. It's the best illusion artwork I've ever seen! Firstly, he wrapped a tree trunk with plastic and then painted it with base coat. Secondly, he started painting on the tree trunk. He painted it such that it mimicked a bird with a forest behind it. Its so realistic and it really fools the eye .

Weekend  in the Blue Mountains. One weekend my family and I went to the Blue Mountains. Early morning we left by car and after 2 hours we were near the mountains. It was amazing! Blue haze rising over the mountain s. Lots of eucalyptus! We walked along the mountain paths and enjoyed great views. After that we went on the cable car. It was very interesting for my grandson and we went down to the waterfall. On the way back we found the Teapot  Museum. I never thought such a museum existed! It was a small house, where a familys live, who founded this museum. It had very cozy rooms and lots of teapots. They were different and interesting! From tiny to big! They had the most bizarre shapes! We bought one amazing teapot and drank tea in the small cafe at the Museum. Have you ever been in the Teapot Museum? If not, you should visit it. It's a beautiful place!

Vivid light

Image
Have you ever seen the Vivid Light Festival in Sydney? This is my first time to see it. Before I saw it, I imagined there would be many Hi-technologies content in this show. Last Saturday evening, my husband,my daughter and I went to Sydney Harbor, where we saw the various artistic light projections on the Sydney Opera House and Harbor Bridge. The images appeared from different elements, and it looked like many different themes. Then we went into the Royal Botanic Garden, which wasn't as crowded as outside. When we went to the garden, I bought a cup of mulled wine. It tasted so good, beyond expectation, and make me warmer. It was a little bit cold in the night. The picture shows the first scene in the garden. There were many fire torches in a field and two dragons' sculptures. The dragon sprayed fire. That was very funny! We raised our cups, it looked like the dragon made our wine hot, the fire sprayed on the cup. At that moment I pressed the shutter and took this picture, wh

Rhea The Dark Spectrum 2023 May 31, 2023   Hi everyone, it's me again. Have you ever been to the vivid festival? The Vivid Festival happens once a year in Sydney, starting 26 May to 17 June 2023. I would like to share my experience with the new attraction, it's called "The Dark Spectrum" At the beginning we bought a ticket and waited in line to get a pass to enter the tunnel. I'd like to tell you more about what's inside the tunnel. it's a bit dark inside so the staff will guide you, and you need to be careful on your steps. In the beginning, there is a monitor to watch and listen, about what to expect and all the pros and cons. Finally, we're on the first level "Separation", We went inside. can you imagine what it would be like inside space, like outer space, with background music and all the lightning? I was amazed! There was a time limit on each level the staff will guide you to the next level so you don't get lost, each level has di

R everent Or I rreverent  It has always been a nice social manner, RESPECT of people's rights. Usually we all would like other people to respect our rights and put them first, Before theirs; But how about ourselves?! I'd like to tell you what I saw and experienced last weekend. It was an enjoyable sunny day, so I decided to take a train and go to the city center. Halfway there, an angry passenger got in and with dreadful behavior threw his backpack on the seats, which are placed for people with disability! When I saw that, the first thing I asked myself was whether this terrible action would continue. You won't believe what happened next! Believe it or not, he laid on the seats and then put his leg up on the handle and somehow stuck his leg to the side window! Yeah, it was horrible, I know. Needless to say, it's not just about train etiquette, he used the seats for people with disabilities while the rest of the train was empty. What should I do in that position? What wo

Yucheng

Hi everyone.      Good afternoon! I’m Yucheng. Have you ever eaten Indian food? Last weekend my wife and I went to the Indian restaurant which is called TSK. That has a five star rating on Google. When I saw this for the first time, I said to myself how beautiful the restaurant is!               I’d like to share my experience. The restaurant was decorated with trees and beautiful lotus flowers and environment was comfortable.          Secondly, the food is traditional Indian cuisine. The butter chicken and curry mutton, which were delicious, were made by a famous Indian chef who came from Mumbai. Especially, the assorted colourful mini cakes were tasty, great!           All in all, I think the restaurant is good, I will try it again.             Share your thoughts. Happy birthday Thomas 🥳🎂

How children grow up so fast! Do you agree with me? In my opinion I feel that children grow up so fast. Yesterday was Thomas' birthday, he is my dear nephew. I couldn't be with him because he lives in Colombia and I am living in Australia now.  I was remembering when he was a lovely baby, now he is eight years old. When he was a baby he was very calm and smiling, now he wants to play all the time. He is a little shy and smart. He likes to go to new places and enjoys artistic activities like drawing and painting. Thomas got a nice surprise early in the morning when he received all his presents. He also received many messages and calls from family that are far away and he was extremely happy.  Thomas, it's wonderful to see you grow. Happy birthday to you 🎂🥳 I love you so much my dear nephew 💞🤗

Vivid celebration in Sydney

Image
Have you ever seen many beautiful and dazzling lights? My suggestion to you is Vivid's great celebration which I experienced on the weekend. You won't believe what happened there! I would like to share this with you. Lots of colorful lights along with music and special sounds, as well as various drinks and food! As you will see, people are happy and children laugh and enjoy... All in all, I think you must experience it at least once. You will hear from me again about beautiful Sydney and next time I will go to the Parramatta River which is one of the best interesting and amazing rivers in big Australia! Happy or Sad?

Image
Through the sun rise comes loud noises from our back yard. I realized that my neighbor's giant eucalypt tree was finally being cut down. Cutting the tree has brought a lot of benefits for us, such as no longer shade in the winter on my house, no branches falling down into my yard on a windy day, and no shade on our solar panels on the roof. But I feel so sorry for this tree when I saw the branches being  sawed one by one, then immediately being into a shredder machine to become wood pieces. My neighbor told me it cost him $1800,not more than I expected, but he joked that maybe kind neighbors should donate money to him, because cutting down the tree would be a good thing for everyone. Maybe Yes, maybe no, what do you think? Shelly

A spectacular view we saw this weekend

Image
Hi everyone. It’s me again. I’m going to share my delightful feeling about a spectacular view we saw this weekend! As you all know, we have had a very busy schedule from the first days of our immigration and we just could visit some business and commercial premises like the Reject Shop I shared with you on Thursday.  In fact, we hadn’t had any opportunity to go and visit anywhere else by this weekend. Fortunately, we could organize a very short trip to the west of Sydney, to a town there. We saw a very breath-taking scene so I decided to take a photograph instantly. An incredible feeling of seeing leaves falling from a tree beside the water, a highly wooded hill, and a lovely white cloud in the sky, altogether just in one view.  This view really gave us such joy and pleasure we’ve never had before. TAFE Blossom and Me

Image
‘Gardens in Bloom’! Don’t get me wrong, nothing to do with Bridgerton. It’s TAFE in Baulkham Hills. Isn’t it fabulous? I’ve spent a whole yr studying English in TAFE since May 2022. It’s such a lovely place. Tranquil environment, cosy classrooms, yet is located in a convenient spot. No wonder it is rated 4.5 among all TAFEs.👍👍 I'm having an extraordinary experience; being free from work and studying in my 50's, am I not? I've met classmates from different countries and backgrounds. How could you possibly imagine one still can make new and true friends after all those yrs in the hypocritical world? But yes, it is happening! Credit must be given to the teachers here. They are so professional in teaching. Their kindness and patience really impress me deeply. I am moved💖. All in all, if you are a new immigrant like me, do enrol in a course in TAFE. Won't be disappointed. Agree?

Hi there, I am a blogger now!

Roger. But how to upload photos?  Healthy meal. Appealing? (Shortest film I got. Not sure how to attach photo instead, sorry about that)

Hi everyone.  I am Viktoriia and I am glad to see you in this blog. I think it's a good idea for communication and practice in writing.😃  We were in the Blue Mountains last weekend and found a small Museum of teapots. It's a nice place with a lot of different teapots!

Friday outing

Image
On Friday my husband, son and I went south to Greenwell Point, near Nowra, for a private family occasion. The weather was rainy in the morning then lovely and sunny in the afternoon, but with a cold wind. There is an excellent seafood restaurant in Greenwell Point, well worth visiting on a day out.
